How To Prepare Yourself Mod 18- Infernal Descent

Best In Slot Trickster Rogue Gear Neverwinter Quest

Now, You already aware with cap for stats. Now it’s time to talk about other valid stuff related to Mod 18- Infernal Descent, like it’s zone, enemies, dungeons and how to prepare yourself for neverwinter mod 18. We are going to share some tips so you can easily face all the enemies of new zones in mod 18.

  1. We would like to suggest you to begin with Expeditions. So, go and start farming ME’s and WE’s as much as possible with all your character. And grab high item level gear from all expeditions with all of your characters.
It’s always good to have plenty of gears to fine tune your stats in future even with high item level gear. You should always target to get gear for your character and companion also. If you do not have high iLvL gears for companion then you should get it before launch date of Mod 18 to optimize your stats at best.

  2. It’s worth your time to farm HE’s in new zone as they have chance to drop pretty decent gear. So, you should always go and farm HE’s to get gears with decent stats and high iLvL. (specially just go after bosses and hunts)
  3. Mod 18 is going to be all about Elven Battle Enchantment. So, try to grab one high level elven enchantment if you don’t own one. Mod 18 is full of CC effects and to handle those nasty stun and effects. You may think about Elven Battle Enchantment. We would love to suggest you get one high level Elven Enchantment even if you are dps as it will provide you even more damage.
  4. The Orcus’s set got a big hit in Mod 18. It was inevitable it would happen sooner or later, but it’s really very disappointed stuff that they did not add any new set as replacement. Definitely, that is going to affect large players database.
There are few alternatives like Arcturia set, Trobriand set, Apocalypse set and ToO set. You can still use orcus set as primary source or damage buff but its not gonna work as before and would not outperform other sets. I would like to suggest you to go for Arcturia Set.
  5. As discussed earlier, you need to farm expeditions a lot to get high iLvL gears for your character or may be for companions. Along with that you would also target to get Arcturia set even if you own one.
As we know orcus set just got a big hit (from 20% to 10%) which makes arcturia set is one of the best sets for dps in game. It has already crossed 1 million prices in auction house, so, simple as it just go and farm expeditions as much as you can because arcturia set may reach the skyrocket price with launch of mod 18.
  6. Start campaign ASAP. It will provide plenty of upgrades for your character in no time. Farm heroic encounters on a regular basis, unlock dungeon before boons. It will provide you plenty of stuff. (Don’t run after boons earlier)
  7. Last but not least hunting, if you do not know then let us inform you that after the skip in Mod 15, Mod 16 and Mod 17 from hunting its back in Mod 18. Hunting was always an awesome part of neverwinter world. And most of the time community always welcome hunting either its in chult or in barovia.
You are supposed to get an awesome piece of gear from hunts with guaranteed drop rate this time. Though monster spawn ratio would be a pain in the ass as developer love to implement it in this way 😀

Some Other Important Facts and Tips about Mod 18 Infernal Descent

Best
  1. New campaign is a bit interesting as compared to previous campaigns. You still need to wait for few days to start getting campaign currency after cap. However, this campaign is not boring, tedious and grindy at all. You can easily reach weekly cap within a few hours.
  2. You should always farm HE’s because it may drop BiS gears for specific class and role.
  3. Mod 18 seems very small and short. It will be hard to keep players busy until mod 19. That may be gonna hurt a lot to developers of the game.
  4. There is no specific update on professions and master work gears. This mod also lacks new gears and companions.
  5. To be really, new dungeon seems bit easier as compare to ToMM but still its not worth the time as rewards does not seem to be effective at all.
  6. Still, CW, HR and TR are BiS when it comes to DPS. Warlock class still feels way weak compared to other classes.

This is all about Mod 18 for now. We will update the post on a regular basis with new updates. If any of you want to be a contributor or want to add his/her guide on our blog. Kindly mail us [email protected]

In short, Neverwinter Mod 18 seems interesting at first but it loses his brightness when you finished the campaign itself. Good thing is that they are already working on class balance which will be expected to go live in upcoming patches and forum announcement.

Neverwinter Trickster Rogue Stats Guide by gravethought

Hey everyone, I decided since it gets asked alot to breakdown what stats do and how they work for the trickster rogue. Hopefully people find this helpful.

OFFENSIVE STATS

Power: This statistic increases the damage of each skill by a flat amount. The amount varies for each skill depending on a coefficient. Unfortunately after testing this stat seems to scale horribly, especially for our larger hitting attacks. For example, 125 power added a whopping 7 damage to lashing blade, our hardest hitting non daily attack. The 7/5099 (5099 was the damage before the 125 was power was added) = 0.13% damage increase. This means thats even if you added 2500 power, you would only see an increase of around a 2.6% in the damage of lashing blade. Unsure of power coefficients for duelists flurry mini-hits and bleed, could make the stat more pve worthy.

Crit: On the other hand this fairs a little better. This increases your chance to critically strike, which adds a baseline 75% damage, further modified be critical severity boosting feats. For a execution specced character, there is no better stat. (This is because of overun critical, which gives you a boost of 30% of your critical severity, which is probably 30% if you are stealthed.) Base line every 1% crit will add .75% damage, more for executioners.

Recovery: This stat is almost impossible to mathematically quantify, as it increases action point gain and decreases cooldown times of your encounters. Since different encounters generate different amounts of action points this further complicates evaluating the stat. Overall I think it is better than power, simply because lurker’s assault is so **** good.

Armor penetration: The most underrated and possibly most powerful stat in the game. Most people don’t even know how this stat functions. The % of armor penetration is directly subtracted from the defense % of the target. YES SUBTRACTED. This means if a target has 50% mitigation through defense and you have 50% armor penetration, their defense does nothing and you effectively do TWICE the damage than if you had 0 armor penetration. However this stat is completely dependent on the defense of your target. As far as I could tell parsing through the combat log, this will not reduce defenses below 0%, meaning if you have 20% armor pen vs a 15% defense target, 5% is effectively wasted. Pve mobs seem to have around 15% defense, but mobs vary by type, certain mobs have more or less. In pvp almost everyone has at LEAST 20%. Also 125 armor pen added 1% armor pen even at 2k+ armor penetration, making this possibly the best stat for any non executioner and the 2nd best stat for executioner as long as extra armor pen isnt being wasted.

Note: Does not currently work with our bleed from duelists furry (this is currently considered a bug). This will degrade this stat in pve.

DEFENSIVE STATS:

Defense: If you want more survivability, this is pound for pound the best place to start putting it. This decreases the amount of damage taken by a %, and while this stat will have diminishing returns on you as it’s value gets higher, mitigation increases exponentially. (Going from 0 to 50% cuts your dmage taken in half, but it only takes 50 to 75% to cut it in half again). However, pvp’ers beware. Armor pen cuts through this like butter, and other classes may already stacking armor pen to take down clerics and GF’s.

Deflect: This is another stat that scales badly. However, have you ever lashing bladed another TR for like 3k with no astral shield in sight? Well you got deflected. Due to some really bad translation or otherwise I have determined that a deflected blow makes you only take 25% of the damage and not 25% less as the tooltip in game would have you believe. So a deflected blows mitigates 75% of the damage. This makes me feel a little less bad about popping impossible to catch without the stealth bonus.

Life Steal: This is our main form of self healing, it isn’t gonna be super amazing but it can help top you off or sometimes save your ***. I’ve healed myself for considerable chunks with lashing blade. It is a % of the damage you deal.

Regeneration: Not only is this pretty bad, slow, and not really found on any TR gear, but you only get the full bonus if you are getting your *** kicked. Don’t look for this stat, just……don’t.
