Friedman’s First WSOP Bracelet – The Roller Coaster
Luck was not on Prahlad’s side when playing in the World Series of Poker events until year 2003. With no previous victories or cash in’s at the WSOP things finally went Friedman’s way. The game was a WSOP Pot Limit Holdem event and the buy in was $1,500. Prahlad made his way to the final table by stealing pots and his usual aggressive style. He describes the final table as a complete roller coaster ride. After frequent ups and downs Friedman faced off with a more experienced pro named Rygol. It turns out Friedman’s relentless aggression did Rygol in as Prahlad Friedman joined the first time bracelet winners of a World Series of Poker event. The winning hand by Friedman occurred when he flopped a flush while his opponent hit top pair. The first place prize earned him just over $109,000. More importantly was the WSOP bracelet.
The Online Millionaire
While Friedman does play in live events his primary source of income is from his online poker playing. Some players have watched him win and lose over a half million dollars in one sitting. His common rival includes a player named Patrick Antonious. One of the largest hands in poker history was captured by these two . It was the biggest until Freddie Deebs and Johnny Lodden played their heads up match.
Friedman will occasionally play in larger payout tournaments but his specialty is Limit and No Limit cash tables. One other rival by the screen name of Green Plastic seems to be Friedman’s nemesis. Friedman once told Green Plastic that he wouldn’t play him anymore because he lost too much to him already. “You’re too good,” Friedman said. Green Plastic is another young college student from Illinois.
